When Anxiety & Uncertainty Is High…

We Need Support & The Plants Can Help!

Before Anything Else- when icky feelings set in, don’t fight them, let them flow & BREATHE. Taking some long slow inhales & exhales- especially longer exhales to help us feel grounded and let those feelings move through us in their own time & their own way. I love ESSENTIAL OILS to utilize for enhancing breath & connecting breath with mantra for calm. Here are some DIY ideas below:

Inviting Change

This is such an important factor in the health & healing field. When I launched my biz as Lion’s Tooth Herbals in 2006, my catch phrase was “You Are Your Own Best Healer.” And it’s the truth. No one can heal you- TRULY heal you,  but yourself. Yes, you can seek out professional advice, be given drugs or herbs or surgeries, but YOU are responsible for taking care yourself & creating the lasting change of health. There are no quick fixes that last. The lifelong work is always ours to choose over & over again, and always worth while when we decide to choose it.

Why Don’t We Prioritize Ourselves FIRST?

Why is it so hard to choose ourselves first?

I felt this way pre-motherhood, but I’m feeling it even more now.

I always feel ‘better” when I’m productive, ie; I’ve cleaned the house, meal prepped, returned emails, sent a newsletter or posted to IG, did laundry, worked on classes, cooked dinner, worked on a podcast, made some client blends…
Any of this sound like taking care of myself- directly? Nope.

Prayers Instead Of Curses

Feeling wronged, betrayed, abandoned, hurt, rejected, discriminated against, judged, criticized or even violated… life brings us lots of situations, traumas & people who are just downright unpleasant. They are horrible to experience, and more often than not, they are hard to let go of. Things can fester. We hold on to beliefs about situations & people that maybe even aren’t our own, but have been absorbed by another. We replay these painful experiences in our minds. Experiences that make us fearful or angry or sad & alone. We hold on to grudges & we gossip about the people who made us feel bad. We often project hateful & negative thoughts & emotions about the individuals we feel we feel wronged us.

When In Doubt… Listen

In every single session I’ve had with a client, one practice is brought up time and time again…. Meditation. Wait! Stop! Before you say to yourself “I’ve heard this before… I can’t meditate, I tried.. OR Meditation is for hippies or I fall asleep, or I’m not Buddhist”… or any other excuse your mind is giving you to navigate away from this page… I beg you to hear me out.

If you’re picturing someone sitting in lotus pose on a mountain chanting “OM” and think that is the only way to meditate…thankfully you’re wrong lol! There are so many different ways to meditate- some simple and some complex, but all super effective.

Effective for what you might ask? Why the heck would you want to meditate at all

Don’t Worry, No One Has Their $hit Together.

I’m sorry but it’s just the truth.
Life is filled with ups & downs, blessings and challenges and no one can have it ALL FIGURED OUT, all of the time.
It’s just plain impossible.
How could we grow & evolve in life, if the metaphorical waves didn’t capsize us once in awhile?
But “Where is this all coming from?” you may be thinking to yourself. Well I’ll tell you.
This past year & moving into 2018, has brought with it many personal challenges in my life. Some I’ve shared with you, and some I’ve not.
This new year has continued to push me &  brought me to a place of yearning to be more and more real, authentic and unapologetic to where I am on my path.
