Amanda Marie-Komisarek Stanley (she/her/hers),a self proclaimed Herbal Anarchist, is passionate a practicing community herbalist who teaches empowered health & healing with a focus on individualized care. While Amanda honors & respects all cultures & traditions of herbalism & is always eager to learn from as many traditions as possible-at present her formal training background is predominantly traditional European-American/Western with highlights of Ayurvedic Medicine.
Amanda has been studying & practicing integrative herbalism & Reiki for over 20 years. Combining a broad spectrum of practices, Amanda includes Ayurveda, Astrology, Traditional Western Herbal Practices, Reiki, Spiritual Ritual & Art to create a unique tool-box for each person she works with. Amanda not only provides lifelong tools, but also the support needed to have a happier, healthier life ~ mind, body and spirit.
A lover of art, Amanda also creates Plant Spirit Vessels as another way to invite & imbue the spirit of healing plants into people’s lives.
A Taurus sun, Virgo Ascendant, Pisces Moon & Pitta-Vata prakruti, Amanda is a lover of all things food, nature and comfort. When Amanda’s not spending time with her daughter & husband, or seeing clients & teaching, you’ll be sure to find her out in her gardens, throwing pots, or in the woods scouting for wild medicinals.
Amanda’s personal lineage is half Polish/Czech & half a blend of British-Irish-French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Senegambian, Guinean & Indigenous American.
Amanda makes continuous efforts to educate herself & recognize needed changes around decolonizing her practice. She strives to create a safe & loving space for all & be as inclusive, supportive, empathetic & compassionate as she can possibly be to all folks she works with in the BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+/traditionally & currently marginalized communities.
