Whether it’s grief, rage, overwhelm or some other emotion that is taking you over and seemingly winning…. follow these steps:

  1. Breathe. A lot. Take at least 5 long deep full inhales and even longer fuller exhales. Exhales ground us and calm us down.
  2. Feel it. Whatever emotion you are experiencing, let yourself feel it. Keep breathing and let it move through you. What does it feel like? Where do you feel it in your body. Stay with it and breathe with it. It will pass eventually.
  3. Grab that Rescue Remedy or other Flower Essence you have on hand. Don’t have one? Get on it!They’re life savers.
  4. Write it down. Or type it out. Or pray it out. But for yourself, to yourself, for Spirit, or the Universe or whoever you connect with. This is for your eyes/ears only.  What has happened to create this feeling? What are the circumstances that were/are involved? Is there anything that you can productively, actively do about it? If yes, how can you do so with love and understanding? If not, what are steps to begin to let it go and move on (hint: steps 1-3 listed above!)
  5. Make some tea. Lemon Balm, Rose, Tulsi, Chamomile, Skullcap, Lavender or Nettle are my favorites (in any combination!) to calm & ease the spirit & mind.
  6. Take a nap.Have 20 minutes to spare?  I’m serious. Set your alarm & get some shut eye to reboot the brain. It allows us to get some distance from the situation and detach which is key to moving forward.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6.

Seem too simple? Seem too easy? Well, it is. Follow these steps in any crisis even if you only get to step 1, over and over, it will make one heck of a difference. xoA

Thank you for naming IT…. and mercury is my ruling planet. Communication breakdown!
Big energy with tiny paths to move through…. like great bay narrowing and forcing its way to the ocean… no wonder the mighty piscataqua has the strongest currents on the east coast. Ya ya this too shall pass , tide comes in the ride goes out. Thank you Amanda for guiding the way through!

    1. Oh Kris! My pleasure:) Sometimes it feels better to have a name for IT and makes us feel like we have a bit more control over things right? I hope you fair the rest of Mercury retrograde & the Solar eclipse with as much ease and peace as possible. OxoxA
