What You”ll Need:
~pen, ~paper, ~ a candle, ~ a smudge stick or smudging herbs of some sort, ~a fire safe dish, ~access to the out doors, ~a toilet.
Before the New Year Hits (before 12am) Sit quietly and light a candle and or some incense. Take a few deep breaths and ground yourself. Begin to ask yourself what is no longer serving you in your life. An attitude or belief? A relationship? A job? A habit? If you have trouble getting clear, sometimes it’s helpful to pick an oracle for some insight.
Then start writing away! Get that piece of paper and pen and get it all down- as detailed as you’d like to get. Pour everything you’d like to release on to your paper.
Now grab your fire safe dish and some smudging herbs and head outside. Begin to set your smudge on fire. Set the intention that you are going to release and let go of all things written on your paper and that the Universe will take them from you and transmute them into the ether and space. Light your paper carefully and let it burn with your smudging herbs and let the smoke rise up into the sky. Hold the intention of release and cleansing. Once everything is burned to ash. Go inside and flush the ash down the toilet as one final “release” and “good riddance” to all that you’re saying goodbye to.
Go back inside and grab another piece of paper. This time you’ll breath, ground and center. Then you’ll begin to draw in ideas an intention of what you’d like to bring in and be open to manifesting in the new year. A new job? A new adventure? A new relationship? Again, it’s up to you what you’d like to invite into the year, and if you need inspiration, perhaps you draw another oracle to help. Once the ideas and images start flowing- write them down! In as much detail as you’re able. Get it all out of your mind and onto the paper. Get your fire safe dish, incense and paper ready to burn outside at the stroke of midnight to ring in the New Year. This time you’ll be asking the Universes help to bring all that is written on your piece of paper into your life for your highest and best good in the New Year. Imagine that as you see the smoke of your paper and smudging herbs moving up into the sky, that it is being received and is already beginning to manifest for you in the Heavens.
May You Have A Blessed New Year! xoA
