Whole Foods Vs. Processed Foods {Panchakarma Reboot Prep}

My definition of a processed food is any food that is prepared, has preservatives added and then is put into a box, bag, can, microwaveable container to be eaten as is or heated and eaten later.

Basically it’s food that lacks vitality as it’s been cooked/prepared and then has been sitting in a container for goodness knows how long on the shelf.

Examples:: Chips, cookies, pretzles, cakes, frozen meals/microwaveable meals, pasta, canned soup, dried soup, cereal, pilsburry cinnamon buns (yum!)… you get my drift…

What I’m hoping to shift during our cleanse is to shift back to whole, real foods… Basically foods you can eat as is (nuts, seeds, fruit, veggies…) or you use to cook to create a meal (grains, unprocessed meats, fish, veggies…etc)

Granted somethings are a little more than time consuming to make from scratch yourself- ie. bread, nut butter, ghee, cold pressed oil (anyone have an oil press handy I could borrow?! LOL J/K)

So obviously even for our tridoshic vegetarian part of the cleanse I’ll be allowing processed foods like
~sprouted breads/gluten free breads

~tempeh

~miso

~ghee

~nut butters

~rolled oats

etc…

So, as we’re going through the elimination part of our cleanse, just do your best to eat WHOLE & REAL.

Pinterest is an awesome place for simple recipe inspiration… Think soups, sandwiches, stri-fries, casseroles, quesadillas, etc. etc… This is where you can still eat quality organic/local animal products to indulge while you can.. but not too much! lol!
